All grandmothers were once young girls. She was a child with bright eyes and a dream-filled heart, before her hair turned white and her hands soft with age. She laughed, played, learned and wondered about life. The future was unknown to her. She did not know any more than being young. As she was growing up she started to see the world surrounding her. She began to get to know a lot of things about her family, her home and those around her.

Then she was grown a young woman. Life now expected more of her. She was forced to choose things, bear responsibilities and be patient. She no longer had days that were filled with play and dreams. The grandma started learning to work hard, take care of herself and be responsible. She also knew that life is good, yet not always straightforward. Gradually she became a wife, a mother. This aspect of her life transformed her. Wanting to love and take care of others, her heart looked bigger. She sacrificed her time, her strength and her comfort.

She did not think about herself as much but rather about the people who required her. Motherhood has made her sacrifice, worry, joy and everlasting love. Years flew by, and she had children. Those hands which had held them turned gradually, slowly old. Lines came to her face, each of them was a memory. Her strength was made weaker, her heart wiser.
